They mention your kids and spouse riding in the car with unsafe brakes just to scare you into paying for things that you don't really need."

JUST BRAKES INSPECTION:

When I applied the brakes on my car they made a slight squealing noise as I came to a slow stop. Just Brakes advertises a $99 brake job so I dropped my car off at Just Brakes at 8665 N Beach Street in Keller/Fort Worth  for a routine brake job.    A while later I received a call from Joshua, a friendly Just Breaks employee who stated that my brakes were in very bad condition and the car was almost not safe to drive.  They quoted repairs at $1206.75 plus tax, YES, One Thousand Two Hundred Six Dollars and Seventy Five Cents!  They said that my rear brakes were very bad and had caused extra wear on my front brakes.  According to Just Brakes my rear drums and shoes needed replacement.  They said my rear drums needed to be replaced with brand new ones, other problems stated were that the brakes leaked, I needed new seals, pistons, calipers, etc.  When I was not willing to pay the $1200+ They then suggested that I at least have SOME of the work performed to make the car safe.  They gave me a new quote of over $500+ which they said would get the car in good enough condition to safely drive.  I went and picked up my car and brought it to a locally owned certified mechanic shop for second opinion...

CERTIFIED MECHANIC SHOP INSPECTION:

I dropped my car off at a locally owned certified mechanic shop.  They inspected my brakes and determined the following:  My rear brakes were absolutely FINE, shoes were good, drums were in good condition, and there was no leaking.  My front brakes needed new rotors and pads and some minor maintenance.  Total cost $315.00

"So my breaks were grinding. Took it to jb and they wanted to charge me almost 1000 dollars for rotors and break pads!!!!!! Anyone needing break work better not go to jb. If u do you WILL get ripped off. I am so pissed they tried to charge me that much. From reading other reviews I see I'm not the first they try to rip off. I wish the bbb would launch an investigation against them- and fine them for their cheating ripp off ways!!. Well nothing I can do except warn you to not do business with them "

State Agriculture and Consumer Services agents have been investigating several Just Brakes locations in the Tampa Bay area for about a year!

"Last week, agents raided three Just Brakes shops in Pinellas and Hillsborough counties, seeking billing receipts, sales-tactic scripts and other records in what state officials say is a criminal investigation."

JUST BRAKES MEMBERSHIP WITH BBB REVOKED!

The Better Business Bureau says most of the complaints stem from Just Brakes' $99.88 brake special. In cases reported to the bureau, the price the customers actually pay is often at least three times the advertised amount.

The bureau called the practice a "bait-and-switch" approach to advertising, because the low price reeled customers in, and then they were switched to the original offering plus other services that increased the sale.
